Daily Addictions.

Some people drink their coffee and do Sudokus/crosswords as their morning routine. I drink water and skim through the new additions on the Shop Bop site. It has been a habit for a good few years now so it's kind of a routine and a terrible habit (although, I haven't bought anything in the last while).

I haven't really been wowed by anything but while looking through the new additions, the DVF Fausta was quite the bootie. Seriously. Look at the heel - that's just plain beautiful. DVF has been producing some pretty, pretty shoes - I can't wait to see what Spring/Summer '11 looks like.

Like Some Sort of Underdog. Or Wallflower.

(without any of their qualities other than being forgotten at times and underrated.)

You know, sometimes we talk about the Johns, the Christophers, the Stellas but we don't talk about The Peter. Wait, who am I talking about? Peter Jensen, that's who. He's all campy-ness and quirk and British, all rolled into one. I never really loved him, not really... but he's stepped away from just random quirk and kind of made things a little more... wearable.

Let's talk about the accessorized details: oversized old lady clutch purses? the shoes? I don't know. How can you not love Peter Jensen?

Wait. Still not completely convinced?

C'mon.

AND his logo is a rabbit. How can you beat that?

P.s., yes, the model is wearing some bunny sunglasses.

Pre-Fall Post Right Before Real Fall. Right.

marni pre fall via style.com

It's pretty much fall now in Vancouver --- it was beyond breezy and border-lining chilly today.

I had meant to talk about Marni's PF collection on CHOR, seriously, I was going to. But then I got all caught up on my love for the Oscar de la Renta PF collection and spent a lot of time thinking about that splendid jacket.

Things change though. And changed they did. The Marni PF collection is tugging at my heart strings. Tim Blanks called this collection "the [one with] hard edges [that] had all the charm." I couldn't agree more. Some pieces were silly (e.g., mittens that looked like they came straight from the kitchen... well, if you had leather oven mitts) but most pieces were charming beyond a doubt. And it wasn't all whimsy either. Who can say no to a camel/tan coat, come fall? It's one of those classics that refuses to be forgotten.

Grandma Chic!

a granny on the bus.

I was contemplating life and the fact I was going to go to bed at 9:09 PM on a Saturday night. So. This is a short post but the picture says it all: when I'm 70, I want to be just that stylish.

Oh. Fall wasn't in February?

dries van noten via style.com
Some people get excited about The September issue; some people get excited about the fall/winter season in February/March. I'm the latter (mostly because I don't read Vogue) mostly because I already saw the collections on the Internet. I remember the initial disappointment I felt when I saw the Karen Walker show --- but I have to focus on the good, right? Yeah.

It has been a few good months since I last thought about fall/winter collections but now it's practically autumn. So, here I am... thinking about the good things.

I never really paid attention to Dries Van Noten and it wasn't until this past year that I slowly notice a secret crush emerging. Now, it's a full blown love. Simple things can be so good. So, so good. And over-sized accessories just makes it all the better. Slouchy grandma pants (you know, the ones with the elastic waist but looks like trousers? What? Doesn't everyone's grandma have those pants...? Maybe it's just my grandma then) are calling my name.

Rachel Comey never fails to make my heart skip. There's something very smart about men's wear turned women's wear designers (look below: Scott Sternberg styles) - it's like, frills aren't necessary (floral prints aren't frilly, okay?). There's always a grandma-chic about Comey's collections and I can always appreciate that. Floral-printed silk pants? Yes, please.

Dear Scott Sternberg,
Sir. Where have you been all my life? You make me want to wear shades of grey from head to toe. I'm guessing this is just the 1st of many women's wear collection. So, so beautiful and perfect.

xoxo,
Steph

Good Afternoon!

Adorable.

Fall Essentials

c. doesn't exist apparently
e2. interior shot! so cute.

Living in Vancouver kind of means I live in a constant state of autumn --- a scarf and an umbrella is always within reach (usually in my bag). And because of this, I never feel bad about splurging a little more on fall/winter items.

A + B.
I think a simple, classic pair of black flats are one of the hardest shoe to find. Impossible, even. But then I saw the Matt Bernson's Gitanes and they're about as perfect as they come. There's also something very flashy but put-together about the leopard pony hair version... And this just further proves that I have some sort of secret penchant for buying the same thing in different colours/prints.

E + E2 | D.
A few months ago, I told myself that I wouldn't buy anymore Marc by Marc bags because they've become as common as a run-of-the-mill Coach bag. But I can't just hate on something for the sake of hatred... and the Saddlery Sophie tote is kind of... well... awesome. Look at the interior lining. How can I say no?

And the wristlet? I don't know. Don't ask. I just really want it AND it could also double as a clutch. Aren't those reasons enough?

F.
Scarves makes me happy because when they're big enough, I use them as a blanket on trips or a shawl when I am without a jacket. There's something kind of comforting about a big scarf --- they're like the accessory equivalent to a London Fog. Seriously.

Bootie Call

I was going to write some long-winded entry about how everyone is always talking about purchasing their perfect boot for fall or on some maddening search for the perfect pair... but really. 2 words: bootie call. They're calling me.

P.S., I know this isn't much of a post. Tomorrow I shall write something of substance... tonight, I dream of boots.
